Iconic British alternative rock band James returns to Brazil with a tour marking 40 years of career. The group performs in Curitiba on November 12 at the Ópera de Arame, and in São Paulo on November 13 at the Audio Club. The tour is promoted by MCA Concerts, and tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
Four decades of evolution
Formed in the 1980s, James rose to prominence with songs like Johnny Yen and reached mainstream success with Gold Mother (1990), featuring hits such as Come Home, Sit Down, and Laid. The band solidified its place in British rock history with albums like Laid (1993), Whiplash (1997), Millionaires (1999), and Pleased To Meet You (2001).
After a six-year break, the band returned in 2008 with Hey Ma and continued to release acclaimed records such as Girl at the End of the World (2016) and All The Colours Of You (2021). In 2023, James celebrated its 40th anniversary with Be Opened By The Wonderful, an orchestral reimagining of its classics. In 2024, Yummy reached number one on the UK charts — a first for a James studio album.
With lyrics exploring politics, artificial intelligence, and modern life, James continues to reinvent itself and engage new generations. As MOJO magazine noted: “After 18 albums and over four decades, James keeps reinventing itself.”
Brazil shows
This marks the third visit of the band to Brazil — following performances in 2012 and 2024, the latter at Rock in Rio’s Sunset Stage. The tour now includes shows in Curitiba and São Paulo as part of their ongoing international schedule through the UK, Spain, and Portugal.
