AquaRio offers educational activities in November with games, workshops and puppet theater on sharks and rays.
To celebrate the National Day of Sharks and Rays, AquaRio has prepared a month-long educational program for visitors. The activities aim to raise awareness about the conservation of these species, vital to ocean balance.
The schedule begins on November 14 with “Super Trunfo + Fin Crafting”, held in the exhibition area from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors can learn more about sharks and rays and create themed fin accessories.
From November 19 to 21 and 26 to 28, the interactive game “Who Am I? – Sharks” takes place in the exhibition area, also from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., challenging visitors to identify species through clues.
On November 20 and 21, the highlight is the puppet theater, which presents marine themes in a playful way. The show raises awareness of endangered shark species and the environmental impact of consuming cação — a term used for shark and ray meat.
Sessions on the 20th run from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.; on the 21st, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The largest marine aquarium in South America, AquaRio houses around 10,000 animals from 350 species across more than 28 habitats. The space combines fun, science education and interaction with marine life.
Highlights include the Axolotl Kingdom and the Oceanic Tank, with 3.5 million liters of water and hundreds of species. The underwater tunnel and touch areas offer immersive experiences.
