For 7 years at Unidos de Bangu, Igor Almeida coordinates wings, sews costumes in the warehouse, and leads by example — far beyond the Sambadrome spotlights.
Igor Almeida’s love for Unidos de Bangu goes far beyond the avenue’s glamour. A muse of the school for seven years, he has built a trajectory marked by dedication, leadership, and intense backstage work. More than representing the group before the public, Igor makes the school an extension of his own life, working daily to strengthen samba and the community he represents.
Currently, in addition to being a muse, Igor Almeida coordinates the united wings and holds the position of president of the united wings, a role that demands organization, dialogue, and collective commitment. His work is recognized for the care given to every detail, from preparing members to artistic alignment with the school’s theme.
Far from limiting himself to administrative duties or spotlight moments on the runway, Igor also gets his hands dirty in the warehouse. He actively participates in carnival construction, helping with costume making, organizing work, and supporting the teams that shape the spectacle. This constant presence reinforces his image as a complete sambista, who understands carnival as the result of collective effort.
For Igor Almeida, Unidos de Bangu is not just a samba school, but a space of belonging, cultural resistance, and passion.
His daily involvement translates into genuine love for the group and samba, showing that carnival’s true brilliance begins long before the parade and is born from work, unity, and commitment to the West Zone community.
