Vinícius, of the duo João Bosco & Vinícius, recorded his first solo track as a gift for his daughter Maria Clara’s quinceañera in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil.
A $600K party — and a priceless gift
On the night of March 25th, the Espaço Golf venue in Ribeirão Preto hosted one of the most lavish quinceañeras in recent Brazilian memory. Maria Clara Franco, eldest daughter of country singer Vinícius (of the duo João Bosco & Vinícius) and Audrei Franco, turned 15 in a celebration valued at over 3 million Brazilian reais, with around 200 guests in attendance.
The venue choice carried deep meaning: Espaço Golf is the same place where Vinícius and Audrei were married. For Audrei, who never had her own quinceañera, the event also became an opportunity to rewrite her own story through her daughter’s celebration.
Pink, silver, and nearly $200K in jewelry
Maria Clara herself defined the night’s aesthetic: pink and silver, brought to life by designers Fábio Artuzzi and Leonardo Lemos. The immersive decor balanced elegance and grandeur. The dresses worn by Maria Clara and Audrei, designed by renowned stylist Letícia Manzan, were valued at over 300,000 reais, while the evening’s jewelry reached nearly 1 million reais.
One quiet gesture stole hearts: Antonella, Maria Clara’s younger sister, gifted her a diamond ring — turning affection into a lasting symbol.
The waltz: from Aladdin to Frank Sinatra
The traditional debutante waltz was reimagined across three distinct moments. To the sounds of “My Way”, Maria Clara danced with her godfather João Bosco and her uncle Adilson. She then stepped into the world of Aladdin alongside her brother Davi, dancing to “A Whole New World”. Her final waltz, with her father Vinícius, was set to “93 Million Miles” — a scene that distilled the bond between past, present, and future.
“Primeiros Passos”: the song that stopped the room
Before the waltz even began, the evening reached its emotional peak. Vinícius unveiled “Primeiros Passos” (First Steps) — his first-ever solo recording. The move was rare, deliberate, and driven by a single purpose: to say in music what the rush of everyday life rarely allows.
“I worked so hard so you’d lack nothing / But I know it hurt / Because what was missing was me / Time can’t go back to make it right / But for the waltz of your 15th birthday, I am here to dance”
Written by Débora Xavier, Luana Matos, Roberta Cruzeiro, and Vivi Abreu, and produced by Marcelo Cheba, the song explores a delicate theme: the inevitable absences of a father who lives on the road, and the quiet strength of the one who holds everything together — Audrei.
The family participates throughout. Davi plays guitar. Antonella records a duet with her father. Audrei speaks words that are direct and full of meaning. And uncle Joãozinho — the last surviving sibling of Audrei’s late father José Franco Filho, who passed away shortly after Maria Clara’s pregnancy was discovered — brings ancestral memory into the fabric of the song.
“While daddy was building out there / Mommy was holding things together here / He did what needed to be done / And I, daughter / Did what my heart asked”
A short film directed by Fábio Portrait accompanied the song’s live debut, blending real footage with AI-generated scenes to reconstruct moments that never happened — but felt true. The audience’s reaction went beyond surprise: it was recognition.

Hugo & Guilherme close the night
The guest list underscored how singular the event was. Maria Cecília & Rodolfo, Guilherme & Benuto, Clayton & Romário, and Caio Afiune were all present. But it was Hugo & Guilherme — Maria Clara’s favorite duo — who brought the house down in a live show that perfectly matched the grandeur of the evening. DJs Enrico and Renatinho kept the energy high throughout the night.
