Over 4 tons of premium meat and a 3-hour show: Fernando & Sorocaba‘s Churrasco On Fire sold out Belo Horizonte’s Gameleira fairgrounds last Saturday.
With every ticket gone before the gates opened, Churrasco On Fire — Brazil’s biggest gastronomic and music festival — stormed into Belo Horizonte on Saturday, March 28, turning the Parque de Exposições da Gameleira into an open-air carnival of fire, food and live music. The brainchild of country duo Fernando & Sorocaba, the event blends premium all-you-can-eat barbecue, immersive activations and a roaming live show unlike anything else in Brazil.
4 Tons of Meat, 250 Pit Masters
The all-you-can-eat grill experience was the undisputed star of the afternoon. More than 4 tons of protein were cooked throughout the day, featuring cuts such as picanha, ancho, chorizo, brisket, beef short ribs, pork belly and fresh fish, alongside sides ranging from pasta and grilled vegetables to desserts cooked over open flame. The entire operation was run by the Team On Fire, a crew of roughly 250 professional pit masters.
At the heart of the venue stood the Churrasco Machine — a custom-built gourmet trailer created exclusively for the festival. One of its signature moments: the Maturatta burger, made with 100% beef and no artificial preservatives, delivered to the crowd via a slide built into the trailer’s second floor.
A Roaming Show Full of Surprises
The Fernando & Sorocaba concert ran for more than three hours and took place across multiple stages scattered through the grounds. The show kicked off more than 10 meters in the air. Sorocaba pulled an unannounced appearance on the Ford stage, singing from the bed of a pickup truck surrounded by fans. Fernando, meanwhile, cooked his legendary arroz carreteiro (cowboy rice) live on stage, fusing culinary craft with performance.
Drone-delivered barbecue was once again a crowd favorite, drawing loud cheers from the Belo Horizonte audience. The festival’s commitment to breaking the barrier between artist and fan remains one of its strongest selling points.
