On Saturday, April 11, Rio Scenarium — the legendary venue on Rua do Lavradio in downtown Rio — brings both together for another edition of Samba & Feijoada no Pavilhão da Cultura, running from noon to 6 PM. It is the kind of afternoon that defines what a weekend in Rio should feel like.
All-you-can-eat feijoada and Dandara Alves live
The feijoada buffet — Brazil’s iconic slow-cooked black bean and pork stew, served with all the traditional sides — opens from 1 PM to 4 PM. Singer Dandara Alves provides the soundtrack, blending samba de raiz (traditional samba) with axé in a set designed to match the energy of a classic Rio Saturday. Doors open at noon and tickets start at R$ 75, with feijoada included.
Night session: Unidos de Vila Isabel take the stage
As the afternoon wraps up, the night picks right up. Grupo Mvúka opens the evening from 8 PM to 10 PM, followed by Adilson da Vila from 10:30 PM to 12:30 AM. The night closes with the Bateria da Unidos de Vila Isabel — the percussion ensemble of one of Rio’s most beloved samba schools, celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2026 — keeping the energy alive until 1:30 AM. Night tickets start at R$ 30.
