“Dona de Mim” actress releases “Lia Roxa and the Matinta Pereira”, a story about bullying, friendship, and self-acceptance.
Amara Hartmann, known for her role in the Globo TV soap opera “Dona de Mim”, has released her new children’s book “Lia Roxa and the Matinta Pereira”. Illustrated by Milena Santos, the work explores sensitive topics such as bullying, trust, friendship, and belonging, blending fantasy and Brazilian folklore.
At 31, Amara has built a multifaceted career in culture, balancing acting, writing, and music. On television, she portrays the younger version of “Rosa,” sharing the role with acclaimed actress Suely Franco. Now, she turns her attention to young readers with a story full of emotion and imagination.
The book follows Lia, a girl with vivid purple hair who faces bullying at school for standing out. Her closest friend is a golden owl that protects her in difficult moments. As the story unfolds, Lia discovers she belongs to the mystical clan of the Tintapereiras—women gifted with magical powers.
“This book is very special to me because it was born at a time when I was learning about my own power and the strength of the women around me.” – Amara Hartmann
Drawing inspiration from real experiences, Amara uses literature to connect with children and transmit a message of empowerment and self-confidence. The book embraces imagination as a tool for emotional growth and understanding.
“Writing and acting were my favorite games. Every artistic project I create is an homage to the child I once was.” – Amara Hartmann
With colorful illustrations and a magical storyline, “Lia Roxa and the Matinta Pereira” shows young readers that difference is not a flaw — it’s a kind of superpower worth celebrating.
