The discussion over online safety for children and teenagers takes a new turn with the audiovisual adaptation of Aconteceu com Minha Filha (Geração Editorial, 2025), written under the pseudonym Paulo Zsa Zsa. The story will be brought to the screen by Gullane Entretenimento, the production company behind hits like Carandiru, Que Horas Ela Volta? and Senna.

The project comes at a time when Brazil’s Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA) has returned to public debate, as the country faces growing concerns about social media regulations and digital protection mechanisms for young people.

The book tells the real-life story of a father trying to rescue his teenage daughter from severe digital addiction, particularly on platforms like Discord. With sensitivity, it explores how online dependency affects mental health and family relationships.

“This story comes from a deeply personal experience, but I always knew it wasn’t unique. If it helps people face what many still prefer to ignore, it has already fulfilled its mission,” says Paulo Zsa Zsa.

According to Fabiano Gullane, the adaptation aims to expand awareness of mental health and digital dependence. “We are handling this development with great care and depth. True stories have the power to inspire empathy and new perspectives,” he said.
