Three decades in over 300 images

Published by BEĨ Editora, Art Saves (A Arte Salva) compiles 30 years of Eduardo Srur‘s practice in a single bilingual volume — Portuguese and English. More than 300 images document his urban interventions, studio work and educational initiatives with broad social impact.

The book features an interview conducted by French curator Marc Pottier alongside critical essays by Maria Hirszman, Adelina von Fürstenberg, Marcelo Rezende, Juliana Monachesi and Katia Canton. The foreword is signed by Marisa Moreira Salles and Tomas Alvim.

The publication traces the conceptual foundations of Srur’s work and his strategies for occupying public space, raising questions about consumerism, the environment and social inequality.

Book launch with simultaneous exhibition

The signing session runs from 3 PM to 8 PM at Casa das Artes in São Paulo, coinciding with the opening of the eponymous exhibition at the same venue. The show brings together paintings, sculptures, prints and objects from different periods of the artist’s career — all documented in the book.

“Art is an act of resistance. These are 30 years focused on art and nature, and this book is the consecration of that journey. I hope ‘Art Saves’ awakens awareness and serves as inspiration for others.” — Eduardo Srur

From São Paulo to southern Brazil

The following week, Srur opens a solo show titled Da Margem à Beleza (From the Margin to Beauty), curated by Fernando Zugno, at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rio Grande do Sul (MAC RS) in Porto Alegre. The exhibition features over 40 works — including paintings, installations and videos — alongside an urban intervention and educational activities from the Natureza Plástica project.

The Porto Alegre show is funded by the Government of Rio Grande do Sul through the Pró-Cultura RS cultural incentive program, with sponsorship from Hertz Farmacêutica and Sulgás.
