“The Awakening of Alpha” arrives in March with fallen angels, supernatural realms, and epic fantasy that rivals Tolkien and George R.R. Martin.Brazilian author Sabrina Lira has announced the release of “The Awakening of Alpha” — the second chapter of her epic fantasy saga “The War of Mages” — for March 4th. Her seventh published book, the novel is available through her own História Sem Fim Bookstore, located in the mountain resort town of Campos do Jordão, São Paulo state.
A supernatural kingdom at war
The saga unfolds in the Kingdom of Vindictus, a supernatural territory founded by fallen angels who sparked a heavenly rebellion — a war destined to last until the end of time. The first installment introduced Semira, a new student at a secretive military school riddled with mysteries. “The Awakening of Alpha” closes out this opening arc with a pivotal revelation: the long-awaited return of the savior angel, whose mission is to restore peace and set the stage for an even greater conflict that will shake both the supernatural and the mortal world.The series targets teens and young adults who love works like “The Lord of the Rings” by J.R.R. Tolkien and “A Song of Ice and Fire” by George R.R. Martin.
In the author’s own words
I can’t imagine my life without the characters who make up this saga — they are alive, they truly exist in my head! Bringing them to light so others can meet them is a feeling of mission accomplished. Today I feel like Alpha herself!
Lira also highlights the deeper purpose behind the release: “The continuation of the saga, written over the past few years, is a major achievement for me. I hope all the magic in this new chapter keeps sparking insights and, most importantly, a love of reading among young people.”
From São Paulo to the mountains
Born in São Paulo, Sabrina Lira began writing short stories at age 15 as an emotional outlet. After studying at the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel), she returned to Campos do Jordão — where she grew up — and chose to self-publish. In 2021, she founded História Sem Fim – Author’s Bookstore, housed inside the landmark Sans Souci venue.Alongside her writing career, Lira runs “O Dom de Cada Um” (“Everyone’s Gift”), a free traveling musical fable designed to help children and young people discover their own talents across the region.
