Historic São Sebastião Holiday Beat

On January 20, 2026—São Sebastião holiday—Rio erupted with the Super Battery. A Superbet and Liesa partnership gathered drummers from every Special Group samba school. Masters led the rhythm, joined by Neguinho da Beija-Flor on iconic sambas.

The official Guinness World Records™ plaque was handed over at the Fan Fest stage. Liesa reps, Patrícia Prates from Superbet marketing, officials, and samba stars witnessed the moment. It honors Carnival as Brazil’s cultural gem.

“The Super Battery shows the city’s power and Superbet’s bond with Rio locals and Carnival, Brazil’s cultural heritage. We vibed at full Rio samba intensity—with a world record!”
Alex Fonseca, CEO of Superbet Brazil

The day featured a samba footwork class with Mayara Lima. Night brought a special show by Belo and Neguinho da Beija-Flor.

Global Spotlight on Rio Samba

Now in the Guinness World Records™, Super Battery puts Rio Carnival on the world map. It cements Brazil’s cultural lead. Riotur president Bernardo Fellows says: “Carnival is Rio’s top cultural, economic, and tourist asset.”

Superbet also backs the Carioca Championship, a football staple since 1906. It links Carnival and soccer, Rio’s core identities.
