Barra-Ondina circuit stopped to watch aerial show with singer’s face formed in the sky, followed by heart and ascending star honoring the artist.
On Carnival Sunday in Salvador, iFood performed a spectacle with 600 drones in front of the traditional Barra Lighthouse to celebrate Preta Gil. The singer, who profoundly marked Brazilian music and culture, was honored with luminous images that illuminated the sky of Bahia’s capital, drawing applause from revelers.
The action is part of the 26th edition of Camarote Expresso 2222, which dedicates the theme “Forever Preta at 2222” to the artist. The show began with a tribute message, followed by the formation of Preta Gil’s face. Then, the image transformed into a large heart, which gave way to an ascending star, symbolizing legacy, permanence, and memory.
Celebration of diversity
“This tribute is a gesture of recognition of the importance that Preta Gil has for Brazil and, especially, for Carnival. She represents the celebration of diversity, love, and the power of our culture – values that are also part of iFood’s essence and our presence in the great moments of Brazilian culture. Preta is part of iFood’s history, since 2016 we built a genuine partnership, which strengthened in recent years during carnival,” states Ana Gabriela Lopes, iFood’s CMO.
Preta’s absence is, in fact, a great presence. Even though she is not physically here, she is in every detail of Camarote Expresso 2222, which carries so much of her energy, her generosity, and her story. Preta always made a point of bringing to Bahia the people who crossed her path throughout the year. The void she leaves is immense for all of us, especially for the family, but being gathered at Carnival in her honor brings peace to the heart. And it will be forever Preta at 2222 Flora Gil
Historic partnership
The tribute carries special meaning for iFood, which maintains a long-standing relationship with the artist. The partnership began in 2016 and extended over the years, with Preta’s participation in Carnival campaigns. In 2025, the brand was by the singer’s side during her last Carnival. Now, this story transforms into a gesture of memory, affection, and collective farewell.
For the fourth consecutive year, iFood is the official sponsor of Salvador’s street Carnival, in addition to being present at festivals in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. In Bahia’s capital, the brand sponsors Camarote Expresso 2222 and supports blocks and cultural initiatives that help keep the local celebration’s identity alive.
