Amstel storms São Paulo’s sambódrome with Águia de Ouro, turning Amsterdam’s freedom into pulsing samba, blending Dutch beer vibes with carnival’s collective joy.
Dutch Freedom Hits Anhembi Rhythm
Amstel, born along the River Amstel, teams up with 2020 carnival champs Águia de Ouro. They spotlight Amsterdam’s core: coexistence, diversity, and pure celebration.
The plot “Mokum Amsterdam – Águia’s Flight to the Libertarian City” comes alive on the avenue. Lines like “Amsterdam, I want wings to fly / Over windmills, sail your rivers” evoke biking as freedom’s emblem.
Being at carnival means joining the beat, the circle, embracing samba as a space for expression and freedom.
Says Cecília Bottai, VP of marketing at HEINEKEN Brazil. The tie-up features the Dutch Embassy, bridging cultural bonds between Brazil and the Netherlands.
Águia’s 50 Years Meet Amstel Legacy
Águia de Ouro, samba staple since 1976 and marking 50 years in 2026, shares these values. Jaqueline Meira, carnival director, notes: our community thrives on creativity and diversity.
Since 2024, Amstel’s the official beer for Anhembi parades via Liga SP. It landed in Brazil in 2015 during street carnival, tied to popular culture ever since.
Open rehearsals every Sunday at Pompéia quadra, west São Paulo, through January 25. Grab tickets to toast this fusion with fans.
