Crowd surpasses opening day figures: 210,000 people flooded the streets of this coastal town in Ceará with Daniela Mercury and Matheus Fernandes on stage.
Aracati Carnival 2026 recorded its largest crowd this Saturday (14), with 210,000 revelers in the streets, surpassing the estimate from the first official day of festivities held on Wednesday (11). The numbers consolidate the municipality as one of the main carnival destinations on the Ceará coast, attracting tourists from across Brazil.
The intense turnout reflects the municipal government’s planning to ensure infrastructure, security and major attractions. According to Mayor Roberta de Bismarck, the daily growth in attendance demonstrates the municipality’s capacity to receive revelers with proper organization.
It’s a joy to see that the crowd is not only maintaining its presence but growing every day. Surpassing the first day’s numbers shows that Aracati is prepared to welcome revelers with organization, security and programming that values our culture and drives the local economy. The increase in tourist flow directly boosts the local economy, benefiting merchants, service providers and the region’s hotel network. The festivities continue until Ash Wednesday with performances distributed across various hubs, including the town center and beaches.
