Bloco da Pri 2026 opens Carnival in São José dos Campos with Viva Mantiqueira theme, ESG focus and godmother Sheila Mello.
The Bloco da Pri 2026 already has a date to officially kick off Carnival in the state of São Paulo. On January 31, the street parade takes over São José dos Campos, promises to draw a large crowd and sets the tone for the season, confirming its status as one of the main Carnival events in the Vale do Paraíba and across the countryside.
Led by singer Priscilla Coutto, who has more than 20 years of career, the 8th edition of the block strengthens its position as a tourism powerhouse, attracting revelers from different parts of Brazil. A pioneer in bringing back the traditional trio elétrico to the city, Bloco da Pri gathers over 20,000 people every year and helps drive the local cultural and economic scene.
Viva Mantiqueira theme and ESG commitment
In 2026, the Bloco da Pri embraces the theme “Viva Mantiqueira” and makes history as the first street block in the region with an explicit ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) commitment. Beyond entertainment, the parade highlights the preservation of the Serra da Mantiqueira, one of Brazil’s most important mountain ranges and natural reserves.
The environmental campaign focuses on protecting endangered animals and plants, reinforcing the value of the Mantiqueira’s biodiversity. By bringing the topic to Carnival, the project invites the public to celebrate nature and to adopt more sustainable habits during the festivities and throughout the year.
Tourism magnet and Carnival start
Over the years, the Bloco da Pri has gone beyond local borders to become a major reference in the São Paulo countryside Carnival circuit. Each edition records a growing number of visitors from other states, especially from the Center-West region, turning the event into a must on the national Carnival calendar.
The parade is now recognized as the real start of the Carnival season in São José dos Campos and also influences the atmosphere in São Paulo’s capital. Live music, authorial songs, special guests and a strong focus on tourism and sustainability position the project as a complete cultural experience.
The voice of the block: Priscilla Coutto and new hits
At the front of the trio elétrico is singer and songwriter Priscilla Coutto, who has already performed on major stages such as the Salvador Carnival, including the Barra-Ondina circuit. In 2026, she lives a moment of creative expansion and further consolidation of her musical identity.
For the Viva Mantiqueira edition, Priscilla presents a renewed setlist with two new original tracks designed for the Brazilian summer. The theme song “Viva Mantiqueira” lands on digital platforms in January, followed by the single “Só Você Balançou”, both created to connect directly with the street party atmosphere.
The songs are produced by Radamés Venâncio and co-written with Gigi Cerqueira and Magno S’antanna, blending pop, axé and strong Brazilian roots. This authorial repertoire, combined with Carnival classics, aims to become the official soundtrack of the opening of Carnival in São José dos Campos.
Godmother Sheila Mello makes her debut on the trio
For the fourth consecutive year, Sheila Mello is the official godmother of Bloco da Pri, and 2026 marks a new stage in this partnership. For the first time, she will perform on the official trio elétrico parade, which is open and free to the public, bringing her charisma and dance style to the streets from the very start of the event.
In the past three years, her participation was concentrated in the Official After Party of Bloco da Pri, an evening event with limited capacity that repeatedly reached sold out status due to strong advance ticket demand. Now, fans will have the chance to celebrate with Sheila directly on the avenue, with the energy and choreography that have become her trademark.
The 2026 edition also features actor and presenter Dudu Pelizzari as the block’s ambassador, helping to broaden visibility and connect the project with new audiences.
Street parade and extended party
The Bloco da Pri 2026 parade and its Official After Party take place on the same day, January 31. Revelers who purchase the abadá continue the celebration at Palácio Sunset, a venue prepared to host shows and keep the Carnival mood going after the trio leaves the streets.
The combination of a free street parade and a private night event offers different experiences for the audience while keeping Viva Mantiqueira and the ESG approach at the center of the concept. Led by Priscilla Coutto, the project reinforces São José dos Campos as an emerging Carnival destination in Brazil.
