Bloco Fúnebre celebrates 13 years at Belo Horizonte Carnival 2026 with “Friday the 13th — Oh Luck!!” theme. Gathering starts February 13 at 11pm at Praça da Bandeira, parade along Av. Afonso Pena.
13 Years of Irreverence in BH Carnival
The Bloco Fúnebre turns the infamous Friday the 13th into pure celebration. Founded in 2013 by Leo Lima and Flávia Ribeiro, it blends mysticism, humor, and social critique.
Gathering kicks off at 11pm at Praça da Bandeira. The parade starts at midnight and heads down Avenida Afonso Pena to Praça Milton Campos, drawing thousands of revelers.
We’ve always seen carnival as a space for reimagining. If common sense calls a day ‘unlucky,’ our answer is to turn it into a joyful gathering — our way: dark, affectionate, and full of humor.
Founder Leo Lima shares this outlook. Flávia Ribeiro adds that the theme playfully tackles collective fears in a festive, carnival spirit.
Open Rehearsals for the Parade
Rehearsals take place at Clube ABESC in Belo Horizonte. Entry costs R$ 30, covering day use. Schedule includes:
January 18 — 1pm to 4pm
January 25 — 1pm to 4pm
February 1 — 1pm to 4pm — Final Rehearsal
February 8 — 1pm to 4pm — Final Rehearsal
