With 6 million expected on the streets, Rio launches the Blocos do Rio 2026 app with official schedules, maps, Metro info, and COR alerts.
Rio’s 2026 Street Carnival is getting a practical digital companion for anyone planning long days of bloco-hopping. Riotur, in partnership with Dream Factory—responsible for supporting the event’s logistics—has released the free Blocos do Rio 2026 app for Android and iOS.
An official guide with filters and live-friendly maps
With editorial oversight by Riotur, the app gathers detailed information on every officially registered bloco. Users can browse by profile—traditional groups, mega blocos, kids’ blocos, religious gatherings, and LGBTQIAPN+—along with crowd-size estimates and filters by date, time, and area of the city.
It also offers interactive maps showing parade locations, tools to build a personal agenda, options to share plans with friends, and quick access to useful phone numbers. Essential services appear as well, including hospitals, dedicated Carnival health posts, and police stations.
“O Carnaval de Rua do Rio é um evento de grande escala, espalhado por toda a cidade, e a integração de informações é fundamental para que o folião aproveite melhor a festa. Neste ano, conseguimos dar um salto importante ao reunir, em um só ambiente, dados de programação, mobilidade urbana, serviços e informações operacionais, sempre com foco na segurança, no conforto e na experiência de quem vai brincar o Carnaval”, diz Fernanda Cozac, diretora de marketing da Dream Factory.
Metro and COR integration
One of the biggest additions is direct integration with MetrôRio. The app displays all stations across the city—also marked on bloco maps—and, for large and mega blocos, highlights the nearest station for arrival and the trip back.
Users can also jump to MetrôRio’s dedicated Carnival page for updated service details, operating hours, special operations, and rider guidance during the peak days. The integration goes both ways: MetrôRio’s page includes a download button for the Blocos do Rio 2026 app.
Another new partnership connects the app to the city’s Center for Operations and Resilience (COR). Through Blocos do Rio 2026, users can download the COR app and follow weather conditions, heat-stage alerts, and operational updates—key for anyone moving across multiple neighborhoods during Carnival.
COR’s own app also points users back to Blocos do Rio 2026, strengthening cross-platform access so revelers can stay informed in real time.
Awareness campaigns and a Carnival playlist
The app will also carry public awareness campaigns. One is “Quem samba cuida”, led by Iphan in partnership with Riotur, focusing on protecting public historic heritage during the celebrations. Rio’s Secretariat for Women and Care Policies adds a campaign against harassment and violence targeting women.
Inside the app, users can also tap into a Carnival playlist curated for different audiences.
