A new chapter opens in General Severiano

Botafogo Samba Clube officially launched its 2027 Carnival project on Tuesday, March 31. The theme reveal took place from 7:30 PM at the Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas headquarters in General Severiano, South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, drawing guests, press, fans, and figures from the samba world.

Beyond unveiling the theme, the samba school announced the names joining its artistic and technical team for the next parade — a clear sign that the new cycle is already in motion.

President highlights the power of the partnership

President Sandro Lima took the opportunity to celebrate the bond between the samba school and one of Rio’s most storied sports clubs. He expressed confidence that 2027 will deliver a memorable performance on the Sambadrome.

“Our partnership with Botafogo is a source of great pride and represents the strength of two histories coming together. We are building a solid project, with responsibility and a deep passion for Carnival. The 2027 theme will be powerful, emotional, and designed to connect with the audience. I am certain we will surprise everyone and put on a great parade on the Avenue.” — Sandro Lima, president of Botafogo Samba Clube

From Burle Marx to the next big story

At the 2026 Carnival, Botafogo Samba Clube competed in the Série Ouro division with the theme “O Brasil que floresce em arte” (The Brazil That Blossoms in Art), a tribute to legendary landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx. The parade reinforced the school’s artistic vision. With 2027 planning now underway, the school is aiming even higher at the Marquês de Sapucaí.
