Brahma honors the Mestre-Sala and Porta-Bandeira duo in its new Carnival 2026 collectible can edition.
For the third consecutive year, Brahma, in partnership with Rio Carnaval, launches an exclusive thematic and collectible can collection to celebrate Carnival 2026. The new edition features the colors and spirit of the 12 samba schools from the Grupo Especial and introduces a unique design: for the first time, the cans pay tribute to the Mestre-Sala and Porta-Bandeira as a pair.
In previous editions, the spotlight was on the Porta-Bandeira. This year, Brahma expands the celebration by also honoring the Mestre-Sala, recognizing the duo responsible for elegantly carrying and guarding the school’s flag, the highest symbol of samba tradition.
Brahma’s connection with Carnival is both historical and emotional. Born in Rio de Janeiro, the brand’s old factory once stood where the Sambadrome Marquês de Sapucaí is located today. It was, in fact, thanks to Rio’s Carnival that Brahma began bottling its beer in 1934.
“This historic connection inspires us to celebrate and honor those who make the magic of Carnival happen. With the Carnival 2026 can collection, featuring the Mestre-Sala and Porta-Bandeira together for the first time, we reinforce our mission to be present in the most meaningful moments of the festivities, celebrating the traditions that make Brazilian Carnival the world’s greatest cultural expression,” said Felipe Cerchiari, Brahma’s marketing director.
“The National Samba Day celebration is a very meaningful date for those who live and breathe Rio Carnival. Seeing Brahma’s new cans once again personalized with each school’s colors is a gift for all of us who love the greatest show on Earth. Everyone is excited to start collecting them,” said Gabriel David, president of Liesa.

The full collection of 12 cans will be unveiled to the public on Friday, November 28, during the National Samba Day celebration event. The cans will be displayed at Cidade do Samba for presentation only, showcasing the new design and tributes for the first time.
