With WEG and K2D, Brown unveils the hybrid, solar Camarote Andante, launching a new electric era for Bahia’s Carnival.
As the final notes of traditional Carnival fade away, new energy sparks along the Barra-Ondina circuit. On Ash Wednesday, during his iconic Arrastão, Carlinhos Brown introduced the most revolutionary version of his Camarote Andante, marking a turning point in the decarbonization of Bahia’s festivities.
Sustainability in partnership
In partnership with WEG, a global leader in electrical equipment, and K2D, the project redefines the Carnival finale. What used to signify the end of the party now celebrates a new era of clean energy and environmental awareness.
Hybrid and solar trio
More than just a traditional float, the Camarote Andante combines stage, support vehicle, and premium lounge. Powered by WEG’s lithium batteries, inverters, and solar panels, it can parade for up to four hours in full electric mode, dramatically reducing noise and emissions. A hybrid backup ensures continuous operation if needed.
Immersive experience
Designed for 150 guests with an all-inclusive service, the Camarote Andante follows the Bloco Timbalada or operates as a standalone attraction. During the Arrastão, it served as Brown’s mobile base, merging comfort and technology on the road. DJ D’Vitor set the rhythm, mixing classic marchinhas, axé beats, and electronic sounds.
Education on wheels
Beyond its technical innovation, the project doubles as a mobile classroom, offering free workshops in sound engineering, lighting, cultural production, DJing, and the history of Carnival. Young talent gets hands-on training, culminating in live performances at the Estação Cultura Viva.
The Carnival of the future
Blending art, education, and clean technology, Brown’s initiative transforms Ash Wednesday into the Wednesday of Light — a new symbol of celebration and sustainability.
