Sapucaí rehearsal with queen and newcomer

Andressa Marinho, or Dedê Marinho, battery queen of Unidos de Padre Miguel since 2025, visited Marquês de Sapucaí on Wednesday night (14). She joined digital influencer Teresa Raquel for her first practice.

As a dancer, Dedê taught samba steps to the recent arrival from Ceará. Teresa gears up for her Carnival debut as a float highlight with the ‘red ox’ school from Vila Vintém.

With one month until parades, both train hard for a strong showing. Their focus sharpens on the school’s official display.

Carnival is part of my life’s core. I’m grateful for all achievements. My story began in childhood, and leading the ‘Guerreiros’ battery today is an honor and dream fulfilled.

It was an indescribable thrill. My heart raced; I felt deeply moved. I want to embrace that human warmth and let my heart beat to the rhythm of a samba school battery.

Plot honors indigenous roots

Unidos de Padre Miguel brings the plot “Kunhã-Eté: O Sopro Sagrado da Jurema”. It centers on indigenous heroine Clara Camarão, celebrating ancestry, female strength, and native resistance with Potiguar elements and the Toré ritual.
