After a standout 2026 parade, choreographer Fábio Batista is confirmed again to direct União do Parque Acari’s Front Commission.
União do Parque Acari advances its preparations for Carnival 2027 by renewing Fábio Batista as choreographer of its Front Commission. The artist, well-known in Rio’s carnival scene, returns after earning high praise from judges for his creative direction last season.
The renewal highlights the school’s commitment to maintaining an established artistic project aimed at repeating its strong performance on the avenue. Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Batista holds a background in Physical Education, dance, performing, and visual arts.
Beyond the carnival, he works as a dancer, teacher, and director, having begun his artistic journey representing União do Parque Acari itself. His artistic career is widely known for promoting Afro-Brazilian dance traditions.
Batista’s repertoire includes Afro, modern, contemporary, jazz, classical ballet, and urban dance styles. He graduated in Physical Education at Universidade Gama Filho and currently studies History at PUC-Rio.
With his renewed leadership, União do Parque Acari reaffirms its artistic excellence and bets on Fábio Batista’s creativity to deliver another competitive performance in 2027.
