Jurerê OPEN’s free Carnival brings six days of samba, DJs, and marching tunes, plus a full kids’ afternoon from Feb 12–17 in Florianópolis.
Looking for a Carnival vibe that feels upbeat but not chaotic? From Feb 12 to 17, Jurerê OPEN at Jurerê in_ (Florianópolis) rolls out a family-friendly schedule with handpicked acts across six days. Expect a warm-up led by the area’s official bloco, samba circles, DJs, classic Brazilian Carnival songs, and a Monday designed especially for children (weather permitting).
The kickoff features Jurerê’s official bloco
Things start on Thursday (Feb 12) at 7 pm on Platform 2 (in front of Patagônia) with a Carnival warm-up hosted by Esculhambloco, Jurerê’s official bloco. At the same time, DJ Marcelo Siqueira plays at the Platform 1 Lounge, keeping the party going until 10 pm.
On Friday (Feb 13), a samba circle takes over Platform 2 from 5:30 pm. Later, at 8 pm, the Platform 1 Lounge welcomes a live set by Leo Dieb.
Saturday (Feb 14) brings Baile do Ninja to the Platform 1 Lounge at 7:30 pm.
OPEN Folia bloco moves through the whole venue
Sunday (Feb 15) at 5 pm spotlights the OPEN Folia Bloco, created for Jurerê OPEN’s Carnival by percussionist and drumline leader Diogo DiJesus. With brass and percussion, the setlist travels through MPB classics, axé, bailão, and traditional Carnival marchinhas.
It’s a roaming performance: it starts at Platform 3 and winds through all platforms, ending at the Platform 1 Lounge.
Monday is for kids: masks, face paint, and a children’s ball
Monday (Feb 16) turns the Platform 1 Lounge into a kids-first Carnival zone. From 3 pm, DJ UBrother spins marchinhas and kid-friendly Carnival tracks. From 3 pm to 7 pm, families can join mask-making and drawing workshops (with a character appearance), plus face painting and “crazy hair” styling.
The big moment hits at 5 pm with Los Gran Nanicos leading an interactive children’s Carnival ball.
For the general audience, the party continues on Platform 2 from 5 pm to 10 pm with DJ DU Brasilidades. Back at the Platform 1 Lounge, DJ UBrother returns from 6 pm to 10 pm.
Final night ends with samba
Jurerê OPEN wraps up on Tuesday (Feb 17) with a samba circle at 7:30 pm at the Platform 1 Lounge.
