Ludmilla Brings Fervo da Lud to Rio Streets

Ludmilla leads the Fervo da Lud megablock in Rio de Janeiro on February 17 in downtown, starting at 7am at Candelária. Free event draws over a million people.

Fervo da Lud Returns to Rio’s Center

The parade takes place on Tuesday of Carnival, February 17. It kicks off at 7am in front of Candelária and lasts four hours, ending at noon.

Free and without ropes, Fervo da Lud ranks among Rio’s biggest street Carnival blocks. It’s the largest led by a Black artist and features in the official street Carnival calendar.

“Fervo da Lud is the realization of a dream and a huge source of pride for me. Leading one of the city’s biggest blocks in Rio’s Carnival is a victory I celebrate every year. It’s a block that honors diversity, freedom, and the joy of street Carnival, with everyone together, singing, dancing, and taking over the city,” says Ludmilla.

Beyond Rio, Ludmilla takes the block to other capitals. In Salvador, it parades on February 12 along Barra-Ondina circuit. The schedule covers Recife (Feb 14), São Paulo, and Belo Horizonte (Feb 15).

Ludmilla’s Rise to Fame

The power of Fervo da Lud mirrors Ludmilla’s success in Brazilian music. As the first Black Brazilian artist to hit 1 billion Spotify streams, she exceeds 15 billion across digital platforms.

She now ranks among the world’s top six most-streamed Black women, alongside Rihanna, SZA, Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat, and Beyoncé. This cements her as Latin America’s top Black artist.

Fervo da Lud Warm-Up

Before hitting the streets, Ludmilla hosts the Fervo da Lud warm-up on February 6 at Espaço Hall in Rio. The night features career hits, Carnival classics, and tracks from her upcoming album.
