In his 23rd year at Sapucaí, Renny Delmondes debuts as a Unidos de Bangu muse, splitting life between Rio and Mato Grosso do Sul
Born in Campo Grande, in Brazil’s Mato Grosso do Sul state, Renny Delmondes reaches a major milestone in 2026: 23 years connected to Rio’s Carnival parade scene. This season, that longevity meets a new spotlight as he officially takes on the muse role for Unidos de Bangu.
Renny Delmondes’ Sapucaí journey
The title may be new, but the runway isn’t. Across his path in Rio, he has marched with major samba schools such as Mangueira and Império da Tijuca, building a reputation for consistency, discipline, and love for samba.
Behind the scenes, the commitment is logistical too. With his routine split between Rio de Janeiro and Mato Grosso do Sul, Delmondes often makes quick round trips to attend rehearsals and official events, staying close to the school’s community.
Last Saturday, he was back at Marquês de Sapucaí for the technical rehearsals. Now, his focus shifts to final adjustments, aiming to bring footwork, presence, and full delivery to the Carnival avenue in 2026.
