Ricky Martin goes from Super Bowl to Camarote Nº1 in Rio

A week after performing at the Super Bowl alongside Lady Gaga and Bad Bunny, Ricky Martin chose Rio de Janeiro to enjoy Carnival at Camarote Nº1.

The Puerto Rican singer returned to Marquês de Sapucaí this Sunday, February 15, to watch the first day of Special Group parades. The visit marks a nostalgic reunion: in 1997, he paraded with Portela, the samba school he came back to honor nearly three decades later.

Now on vacation and single, the artist immersed himself in Rio’s vibe since his arrival. He was spotted biking along Ipanema’s waterfront, moving discreetly through the south zone streets. On social media, he shared moments with the caption “Tô no Rio” (I’m in Rio), quickly replicated by Brazilian fans.

From world’s biggest stage to the avenue

The Rio choice gained extra symbolism due to timing. Exactly seven days earlier, Ricky Martin was performing at Super Bowl LX, considered the world’s premier entertainment event. The transition from America’s largest stadium to Brazil’s most popular celebration reinforces his historic connection with Latin culture.

At Camarote Nº1, a venue with 35 years of tradition at Sapucaí, the singer was welcomed by Holding Clube partners: Marcio Esher, Juliana Ferraz, and Priscila Pellegrini. The space has established itself as a meeting point for national and international personalities during Carnival.

Historic bond with samba

Ricky Martin’s parade with Portela in 1997 happened at a crucial moment in his career. Back then, the Latin star was already known for hits like “María” and was consolidating his global popularity. The parade with the blue and white school marked generations of revelers who packed Sapucaí to see him on the avenue.

Now, the return happens in a more mature phase of his journey. With dozens of awards in his resume and status as a Latin music icon, Martin reaffirms Brazil as his preferred destination for relaxation moments away from international spotlights.
