DRAGSTAR moves into the group stage
On February 11, Teatro Rival Petrobras hosts the Group Stage of DragStar’s 13th season as part of the Festival Resistência Cultural no Rival.
The contestants are judged by the audience and a team of mentors—Andréia Andrews, Chloe, Karina Karão, Ravena Creole and Samara Rios—while Miami Pink takes the stage as host.
Inspired by talent-show formats like The Voice and XFactor, DragStar presents itself as a competition for drag artists of every style and career length, seeking the “Rainha Drag Star” title.
A masked pre-Carnival night with Chico in the soundtrack
On February 12, the Rival turns into a dance hall for Noite dos Mascarados, the Women of Chico bloc’s pre-Carnival masked party.
The event marks 20 years of Bloco Mulheres de Chico, described as Brazil’s first all-women bloco, with a repertoire dedicated to Chico Buarque de Holanda’s work.
The message is clear: come in costume, bring the sparkle, and sing along to bold new takes on classic songs.
Post-Carnival samba with Cacique de Ramos
After a break with no programming from Feb 13 to 23, the calendar returns on Feb 24 with a post-Carnival samba night tied to Cacique de Ramos, under Festival DiverCidade.
The listing highlights the group Força da Cor and frames the experience as a direct line to samba tradition and the “Doce Refúgio.”
The announced lineup includes Daniel Ricarte, Diego Esteves, Darlan Arruda, Rodrigo Rocha, Leozinho, Thiago Oréga, Criolinho and Guará.
