The samba school Alegria de Copacabana announced on social media that Ronaldo Yllê will remain as lead vocalist in charge of the sound car for the 2027 parade. It marks his second consecutive year leading the school’s musical performance.

The renewal demonstrates the school’s commitment to artistic continuity and the strengthening of its own musical identity, emphasizing planning, emotion, and community involvement. Inside the school, keeping the same main voice is seen as vital to the maturation of its artistic project.

A veteran in the Rio samba scene, Ronaldo Yllê began his career in the late 1980s at Imperatriz Leopoldinense in Ramos. In 1990, he joined the backing vocal group that accompanied the legendary Dominguinhos do Estácio.

With his renewal confirmed, Alegria de Copacabana looks ahead to Carnival 2027 with confidence, stability, and musical focus.
