35 years of Camarote Nº1 — and still the place to be

Camarote Nº1, located in sector 2 of Rio de Janeiro’s legendary Sambódromo on Marquês de Sapucaí, wrapped its third night of Carnival celebrations in unforgettable fashion. The venue, marking 35 years of samba royalty, drew Brazil’s biggest names for one of the most star-studded nights of the season.

Sabrina Sato — co-owner and Queen of Camarote Nº1 — dazzled on two fronts: first as Drum Queen of Vila Isabel on the avenue, then as host of the night. Joining her as official musas were Erika Januza, Mayara Lima and Lore Improta.

Paolla Oliveira trades the avenue for the VIP stands

One of the night’s most talked-about moments came from Paolla Oliveira. After 15 years parading as Drum Queen of Grande Rio, the actress watched the procession from the camarote for the first time — swapping sequins for a front-row seat with a completely new view of Carnival.

Claudia Ohana arrived channeling the spirit of Natasha, her cult character from the Brazilian soap opera Vamp. The guest list also included Carla Diaz, Cleo, Diego Hypolito, Marcos Pitombo, Sarah Andrade, Rafa Uccman, Rafael Infante, Jorge López, Álvaro Xaro, Lucas Guedes, Gabriel Fuentes, Gabi Melin, Vittor Fernando, Maria Braz and co-owner Ju Ferraz.

Baile Nº1: funk music carries the party to sunrise

To close out the first weekend, guests watched the sun rise over the Apoteose stage to a pounding funk soundtrack. The Baile Nº1 after-party featured Tati Quebra Barraco, Naldo Benny, Bonde do Tigrão and Furacão 2000 — icons of Brazilian funk who kept the crowd moving through dawn.

Rounding out the lineup were Dudu Nobre, DDP Diretoria, Mochakk and Mita Gami, ensuring a worthy sendoff for the most celebrated Carnival venue in the country.

After 15 years parading as Drum Queen of Grande Rio, Paolla Oliveira watched the procession from Camarote Nº1 for the very first time.
