After drawing 1.7 million to Rio and São Paulo streets, mega street party arrives in Bahia on Feb 17 with Carla Cristina and Pabllo Vittar, possibly making history as world’s largest.
In its first year parading through Brazil’s three major Carnival hubs (Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Salvador), SeráQAbre? arrives in the capital of Bahia with the possibility of making history as one of the world’s largest street parties. On February 17, Carnival Tuesday, the mega street party debuts on the Barra-Ondina Circuit in free format, with Carla Cristina leading the sound truck and its first confirmed guest: Pabllo Vittar.
Impressive numbers
The numbers help illustrate the scale of this movement. The street party created two special editions that together drew 1.7 million people. In partnership with 99, the party featured Ivete Sangalo at the helm and transformed into “SeráQPede” in Rio de Janeiro, gathering over 500,000 people, and “QuemPedePede” in São Paulo, bringing more than 1.2 million revelers to the streets. A historic moment that took over the streets, the internet, the media, and social networks.
The result, beyond the joy of millions of revelers and the boost to tourism and local commerce, was astronomical social media engagement. From November 12, 2025, to February 9, 2026, considering only the mega street party’s Instagram page, there were 20,725,239 views, over 4 million accounts reached, and more than 630,000 interactions. On POPLine portal, project partner providing special coverage before, during, and after events, SQA news and posts alone reached over 30 million people.
Salvador and nationwide broadcast
Now the movement gains a symbolic chapter: it’s time to make history in Salvador, hometown of one of its founders, marking presence in the three main Brazilian Carnival cities in 2026.
In the capital of Bahia, the street party has support from Grindr, but those not in the city can still follow along. In an unprecedented partnership with Sua Música and Salvador FM, POPLine will provide multiplatform broadcasting of Salvador’s Carnival, including SeráQAbre?’s route.
Origin and identity
Conceived by Flávio Saturnino, POPline founder and PIRA partner, and Sandro Souza, Rio-based entrepreneur, SeráQAbre? quickly entered the calendar as a mega street party in 2023, driven by an admittedly multi-artist curation and an origin connecting pop culture, behavior, and community. In just four years, it became one of the youngest Brazilian Carnival projects to reach numbers of this scale in a single edition.
SeráQAbre? was born from digital, from the internet, and from this ongoing conversation with an audience that follows us year-round. Not coincidentally, brands find in it an opportunity not just to create conversation, but community conversion, something important for any brand. And that’s something we value greatly: without our partners, it wouldn’t be possible to go this far. It’s fulfilling to see the brands that have already joined, and those we’re still talking to, for this carnival. In four years, we’ve built a street party that doesn’t depend on a specific ‘personality’ to exist, it’s a collective multi-artist project with ambition to occupy the place it deserves on Brazil’s streets Flávio Saturnino
PIRA’s robust operation
Responsible for production, operations, and sponsorship procurement, PIRA oversees a robust operation in Salvador, bringing together technical planning, logistics, security, team coordination, and necessary infrastructure for a large-scale parade on one of Brazilian Carnival’s most complex circuits. The agency’s work ensures project viability across different locations, maintaining scale, flow, and safety.
Salvador is a city where Carnival already functions as a complete ecosystem, with continuous collective flow and multiple street parties happening simultaneously. Our role is to ensure this experience happens with excellence, respecting the city and the cultural power of the street party Filipe Ratz, CEO and founder of PIRA
Three cities, three strategies
Beyond attendance numbers, SeráQAbre? is also consolidating through its ability to plan custom operations for each location, combining territorial reading, security, and flow—an important differentiator for mega street parties in cities with distinct dynamics.
In Salvador, where street Carnival is part of the city’s DNA and its people, expectations run high for another historic chapter.
Operating across three of Brazilian Carnival’s major locations simultaneously is an enormous challenge, but it’s also what defines SeráQAbre?. We’ve grown by understanding each city, each audience, respecting their needs, their codes, and using that understanding to make the street party flow Sandro Souza, SQA co-creator
In Rio de Janeiro, the downtown parade built all logistics and dynamics of the street party’s passage in partnership with the National Historic and Artistic Heritage Institute (Iphan). Everything to respect passage through a region with numerous listed heritage sites. The partnership included communication to guide the public, reinforcing messages of urban space preservation, with clear positioning against vandalism and in favor of caring for the city, aligning celebration and responsibility in a historic area. The result was complete preservation of all monuments.
Considering São Paulo’s logistics and expected crowd size, strategy involved a key operational decision. The street party opted for a morning start to favor sound truck circulation along the route and reduce risks of excessive concentration at the beginning, given that many revelers arrived with the parade already underway. The choice, unusual for the region, helped maintain flow and public experience in a parade that drew 1.2 million people.
Care initiative with Grindr
For this edition, the mega street party has support from Grindr, marking presence at Salvador’s Carnival alongside the party with the “Safe with Location” initiative, focused on collective care, well-being, and autonomy during celebrations. The action includes educational messages, safety guidelines, privacy features, and local partnerships, reinforcing the importance of safer and more inclusive environments at high-attendance events.
With a diverse lineup, structured operation, and actions extending beyond the stage, SeráQAbre? consolidates its Salvador debut as one of Carnival 2026‘s most anticipated moments, connecting music, behavior, care, and collective celebration.
