Union of Maricá continues to strengthen its team for Carnival 2027. On Tuesday night (24), the school announced the renewal of choreographer Patrick Carvalho, who led the front commission that dazzled at Marquês de Sapucaí and secured the school’s Série Ouro championship in 2026.

Patrick has been part of the project since the school’s arrival at Sapucaí, earning perfect scores in all three parades he choreographed — a record that has made him one of Carnival’s leading names. He also directed the Imperatriz Leopoldinense front commission for the past two carnivals.

“Union of Maricá’s project is very solid, with great structure and professionalism. I’m happy to continue this work and believe we have even more to show in the Special Group,” said Patrick.

With this renewal, the school adds a second confirmed name for its Special Group debut, following the announcement of singer Zé Paulo Sierra on Monday (23). The school prepares for its new challenge after the success of the ‘Berenguendéns e Balangandãs’ theme, which crowned Union of Maricá as Série Ouro champion.
