Global Awards and Star Cast

Blackberry Time (“É Tempo de Amoras”) took Best Film at Made by Woman (Austria), Best Foreign Film at LA Femme (USA), and Best Debut Director at Istanbul Women Film Festival (Turkey).

Directed by Anahí Borges, it stars Rosamaria Murtinho as Pasqualina, Analu Reis as Pety, with Antonio Pitanga, Zezé Motta, Bárbara Bruno, Jessica Córes, and Agnes Zuliani.

Rooted in São Paulo Memories

Drawn from Borges’ youth in São Paulo’s Horto Florestal and visits to Frederico Ozanam Elderly Shelter, it follows Pasqualina’s escape and her heartfelt connection with Pety, who tries to adopt her.

Pety debuted in Borges’ shorts “Pety Can Do Anything,” “Pety’s Adventures,” and “In the Time of Ants,” building a tender world of childhood wonder.

With Blackberry Time, I wanted a film about desire. About dreams. […] The miracle of life, the true bonds of affection we choose to create.

Borges emphasizes feminine storytelling by an all-women-led team. Production: Aranhas Films. Distribution: ELO STUDIOS. Selected for ELO’s ELAS 2018 Seal.
