Oscar-winning producer Graham King announced during Munich Film Week that “Michael” will hold its international premiere in Berlin, followed by an exclusive fan celebration designed to run for several days. The plan signals an event built for audience experience, not just industry red carpet moments.

According to the production, cast and filmmakers will attend the April 10 event. More information about both the premiere and the extended fan program is expected to be revealed soon.

Brazil release set for April 23

After the Berlin kickoff, the film’s Brazilian theatrical release is scheduled for April 23. The movie is presented as a cinematic portrait of Michael Jackson’s life and legacy, framing him as one of the most influential artists the world has ever seen.

From early talent to global ambition

The story follows Michael Jackson beyond the music itself, tracing his journey from the early discovery of extraordinary talent as the leader of the Jackson Five to the visionary artist whose creative ambition fueled a relentless drive to become the biggest entertainer in the world.

Alongside his life offstage, the film highlights some of the most iconic performances from the early solo years, promising audiences a perspective “never seen before.”

Jaafar Jackson makes his film debut

Jaafar Jackson, the singer’s nephew, stars as Michael in his feature film debut. The cast also includes Nia Long, Laura Harrier, Juliano Krue Valdi, Miles Teller, and two-time Oscar nominee Colman Domingo.

Creative team behind the epic

Antoine Fuqua directs from a screenplay by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan. King produces through GK Films alongside John Branca and John McClain, executive producers of “This Is It” and “Thriller 40.”

Global distribution plans

Lionsgate will release “Michael” in North America and Japan (in partnership with Kino Films), while Universal Pictures will handle international distribution elsewhere.
