On April 7, Kinoplex Nova América hosts a CineMaterna screening of “Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie” — with free tickets and a baby-friendly theater.
Next Tuesday, April 7, at 2:00 PM, CineMaterna takes over Kinoplex Nova América with a special screening of “Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie”. The session is designed primarily for families with babies up to 18 months old, though older children and other guests are also welcome.
A Theater Built Around Babies
CineMaterna reimagines the movie-going experience for families with newborns and infants. The theater features milder air conditioning, reduced sound levels, and soft ambient lighting so parents can move around safely throughout the session. Changing stations stocked with diapers, wet wipes, and hygiene supplies are set up inside the room itself — no need to step out.
Babies who can sit or crawl will find foam EVA mats with toys waiting for them. The venue also offers a dedicated stroller parking area. CineMaterna volunteers are present throughout, welcoming families and keeping everything running smoothly.
Free Tickets for the First Families
The first 10 families with babies up to 18 months receive a complimentary ticket — one per baby, for the mother, father, or guardian. Children up to 2 years old attend for free. After the complimentary tickets run out, additional tickets are available at the box office or self-service kiosks at standard Kinoplex prices.
The Audience Chooses the Film
Films shown at CineMaterna sessions are chosen by registered families through weekly polls on the association’s website. Voting runs Thursday through Sunday, with results announced the Thursday before the session — giving everyone time to plan ahead.
After each screening, volunteers invite families to a casual get-together in a nearby space. That moment captures what makes CineMaterna truly special: a real support network for families navigating the emotional journey of parenthood together.
17 Years Supporting Brazilian Families
Founded in August 2008 in São Paulo, the CineMaterna Association pioneered baby-friendly cinema sessions in Brazil. Today, it operates in 47 cities across 16 states and has welcomed more than 255,000 families across over 12,000 screenings.
