French Film Festival Brazil unveils 2025 film lineup and official trailer ahead of its November 27 opening.
The French Film Festival Brazil, starting on November 27 in cinemas nationwide, released its official trailer featuring the selected films. The piece is set to “Sirba”, by Vladimir Cosma and Gheorghe Zamfir, from the soundtrack of “The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe”, included in the tribute showcase to Pierre Richard, who will attend events in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

Cosma, author of more than 300 soundtracks, received two César Awards for Diva (1982) and Le Bal (1984), along with other international honors.
The trailer highlights 20 recent French productions, including The Stranger by François Ozon; Voz de Aluguel by Fabienne Godet; Backstage of Love by Victor Rodenbach; and The Richest Woman in the World by Thierry Klifa, featuring guest actress Isabelle Huppert, who opens the festival in Rio de Janeiro and also visits Salvador. Five cult films honor Pierre Richard, such as The Goat (1981) and The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe (1972).
The festival runs until December 10 in cities of all sizes. With dramas, comedies, romances, biographical films and animation, the event remains the largest French film festival outside France, with over 2 million spectators.
The festival is supported by Varilux as Master Sponsor, alongside BNP PARIBAS, EDENRED, VOLTALIA, FAIRMONT and AIR FRANCE, with support from Brazil’s Ministry of Culture and Rio de Janeiro’s City Hall.

The list includes: 13 Days, 13 Nights; The Richest Woman in the World; Once Upon a Time My Mother; I Who Loved You; Fanon; Out of Control; A Bicycle Journey; Young Mothers; La Pampa; Hands at Work; Maya, Give Me a Title; Mercato; The Attachment; The Stranger; The Chef’s Secret; Maldoror Operation; Backstage of Love; Dream, Therefore I Exist; Barbarian Neighbors; Voice for Hire.
The tribute to Pierre Richard features: The Goat, The Toy, The Fugitives, The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe and A Cloud Between the Teeth.

As of November 10, confirmed cities included Aracaju, Araguaína, Araraquara, Balneário Camboriú, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Botucatu, Búzios, Brasília, Campinas, Campo Grande, Caxias do Sul, Cotia, Corumbá, Cuiabá, Curitiba, Florianópolis, Fortaleza, Goiânia, Garanhuns, Gurupi, Indaiatuba, Itajubá, Jaguari, João Pessoa, Juiz de Fora, Jundiaí, Londrina, Lorena, Macaé, Maceió, Manaus, Maringá, Montes Claros, Natal, Niterói, Palmas, Pelotas, Petrópolis, Poços de Caldas, Porto Alegre, Recife, Resende, Ribeirão Preto, Rio Grande, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Santa Bárbara d’Oeste, Santos, São Carlos, São José dos Campos, São Luís, São Paulo, Uruguaiana, Vitória and Volta Redonda.
