After shining at the Rio Film Festival, the Brazilian thriller “Salve Rosa” reaches Netflix’s top spot, confirming Klara Castanho’s star power.
The psychological thriller “#Salve Rosa” has reached number one among the most-watched films on Netflix Brazil in February 2026. Produced by Panorâmica, with Elo Studios and Paramount Pictures, the film premiered in theaters in October 2025 before landing on the platform.
“I studied every breath, every glance, every word so this girl would have the impact she does. I can only celebrate,” said actress Klara Castanho.
Created by Mara Lobão and directed by Susanna Lira, the movie won the Audience Award for Best Film at the Première Brasil showcase, as well as Best Actress (Klara Castanho) and Best Costume Design (Renata Russo). Its festival acclaim foreshadowed the streaming triumph.
“When the trailer hit 10 million views, we felt its power. Seeing an independent thriller go viral is a milestone,” said creator Mara Lobão.
Written by Ângela Hirata Fabri, the story tackles child exposure on social media and the pressures of early fame. It follows Rosa (Klara Castanho), a child influencer whose life is governed by her mother Dora (Karine Teles)’s ambitions and control.
Shot in Rio de Janeiro, the film uses the suspense genre to explore the dynamics of digital visibility. Its success on Netflix strengthens Panorâmica’s position as a studio driving socially resonant, globally minded productions.
