Sidney Prescott is back — this time as a mother. In “Scream 7,” Neve Campbell hints at a new side of Sidney ahead of Feb. 26 in Brazil.
Neve Campbell returns to the role that helped define modern slasher cinema and says she was “really excited” to be part of the film again and keep Sidney’s story moving. Her comments appear in a newly released behind-the-scenes featurette shared by Paramount Pictures on Feb. 5.
How Sidney changes in “Scream 7”
Director Kevin Williamson — the franchise’s creator — calls Sidney the “soul and heart” of the series. But this chapter leans into something the films have rarely explored: Sidney Prescott as a mother.
In the featurette, Williamson says audiences will see Sidney “in a way never seen before,” stepping fully into that role. It reframes the stakes from survival to protection — and makes the horror feel closer than ever.
A new Ghostface targets her family
In “Scream 7,” a new Ghostface emerges in the quiet town where Sidney has rebuilt her life. Her worst fears surface when her daughter (played by Isabel May) becomes the killer’s next target.
Determined to keep her family safe, Sidney must confront the trauma of her past to try to end the massacre once and for all. The film’s hook is personal: the threat isn’t distant — it’s right at home.
