Cine Livro is back. Brazilian cinema chain Cinesystem hosts the second edition of its monthly project bridging literature and film on April 16. The featured title is New Moon, the second installment of the Twilight saga, returning to the big screen in a special screening that has been drawing fans across the country.
The film that defined a generation
Based on Stephenie Meyer‘s bestselling novel, New Moon follows Bella Swan after vampire Edward Cullen abruptly leaves her life. In his absence, her bond with werewolf Jacob Black deepens, adding new emotional layers to the supernatural universe Meyer created.
Originally released in 2009, the film grossed over US$ 700 million worldwide, cementing the Twilight franchise as one of the defining pop culture phenomena of the decade. Stephenie Meyer’s novels remain among the most widely read in global publishing history.
