TNT and HBO Max have unveiled the lineup for their live coverage of the 98th Academy Awards®, set for March 15, 2026. In the studio, actors Vladimir Brichta and Fabiula Nascimento join film and TV specialist Aline Diniz as special guests. From the red carpet at the Dolby® Theatre in Ovation Hollywood, Los Angeles, correspondent Carol Ribeiro delivers exclusive behind-the-scenes access and celebrity interviews.

Vladimir Brichta makes his debut

Vladimir Brichta makes his first appearance as a special commentator for TNT and HBO Max’s Oscars coverage. He began his career on stage, sharing the spotlight with Lázaro Ramos and Wagner Moura in the theater production “A Máquina.” In film, he earned Brazil’s Cinema Award and the APCA prize for his performance in “Bingo: King of the Mornings”, and most recently starred in the drama “Pedaço de Mim.”

On television, Brichta built a devoted following through acclaimed series such as “Justiça” and “Cidade Proibida”, along with major soap operas including “Renascer”, “Amor de Mãe”, and “Segundo Sol.”

Fabiula Nascimento returns for year two

Fabiula Nascimento returns as a special guest for the second consecutive year. She rose to national prominence with the film “Estômago” (2008) and has since starred in landmark Brazilian productions, including the hit soap opera “Avenida Brasil” and the series “Dias Perfeitos.” Her film credits include “Morto Não Fala” and “Uma Mulher Sem Filtro.”

Schedule and coverage

Coverage kicks off at 6:30 PM (BRT) with a pre-show hosted by Fabiula, Vladimir, and Carol Ribeiro live from the red carpet. The official ceremony begins at 8:00 PM (BRT), with live commentary from Aline Diniz and the two special guests. Simultaneous interpretation is provided by Regina Pierantoni McCarthy and Robert Greathouse.

Brazil’s historic Oscars moment

Brazilian cinema arrives at the 98th Academy Awards® with a record-breaking five nominations. The spy thriller “The Secret Agent” competes in four categories: Best International Feature Film, Best Ensemble Cast, Best Picture, and Best Actor for Wagner Moura. Cinematographer Adolpho Veloso is also nominated for Best Cinematography for the American film “Train Dreams.”

With five nominations, Brazilian cinema has made history at the 98th Academy Awards®.
