Pierre Richard meets audiences at French Film Festival in Brazil

French comedy legend Pierre Richard presents films and talks with audiences in São Paulo and Rio at the French Film Festival in Brazil.

Pierre Richard, one of France’s most beloved actors and directors, is in Brazil for the French Film Festival. He will present his new film “Sonho, Logo Existo” and the classic “La Chèvre,” followed by Q&A sessions in São Paulo on December 2 and in Rio de Janeiro on December 4.

With nearly 70 years of career and over 100 films, Richard is honored at this edition of the festival. At 91, he returns to directing with “Sonho, Logo Existo,” screened at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The film tells the story of two men from different generations who form an unlikely bond while protecting a runaway circus bear in rural France.

Special sessions

In São Paulo, screenings take place at Cine Marquise with “Sonho, Logo Existo” at 5:15 pm, followed by “La Chèvre” at 8 pm and a talk with the artist at 9:30 pm. In Rio de Janeiro, screenings and the Q&A will be held at Cinesystem Belas Artes Botafogo, starting at 5 pm.

The festival also hosts a retrospective of four iconic films starring Pierre Richard, including “The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe,” “A Cloud Between the Teeth,” “The Toy,” and “The Fugitives.” Ticket prices follow regular cinema rates.

The Festival

The French Film Festival in Brazil is the country’s largest French cultural cinema event, taking place in over 50 cities until December 10. The lineup includes 20 contemporary features and one classic screened in major festivals such as Cannes and Venice.

Films by renowned filmmakers François Ozon, Valérie Donzelli, and the Dardenne brothers join works by new voices like Amélie Bonnin. The event also offers free virtual reality screenings and pays tribute to stars such as Isabelle Huppert, Omar Sy, and Pierre Richard.
