Curated by Ana Carolina Ralston, the 14th 3M Art Show features six artists with new works and free admission at Parque da Luz.
Until October 26, São Paulo’s Parque da Luz hosts the 14th 3M Art Show for the first time. Under the theme “Biomorphs: The Reinvention of Being”, the free exhibition, conceived and produced by Elo3, presents site-specific installations that explore the fusion of nature, technology, and transformation.
Dialogues between ancestry, body, and technology
Curated by Ana Carolina Ralston, the exhibition brings together works by Ayrson Heráclito, Leandra Espírito Santo, Leandro Lima, Licida Vidal, Luiz Zerbini, and Rafa Bqueer. The six artists, from different regions of Brazil, explore metamorphosis and the coexistence of organic and digital worlds.
In “Juntó”, Ayrson Heráclito presents stainless steel sculptures inspired by Afro-Brazilian ancestry and Afrofuturism. Leandra Espírito Santo’s immersive installation “Ultra Movement” questions the boundaries between body and machine through mechanical choreography combining motion and rotation.
Installations that rethink the environment
Leandro Lima’s “Artéria” uses programmable LED strips to simulate a heartbeat connecting natural and artificial energy. Licida Vidal’s “Neosymbiota Lucens” creates a hybrid organism made of clay, activated charcoal, and fishing nets that filters rainwater and returns it clean to the environment.
Luiz Zerbini offers a contemplative experience with “É proibido pisar na grama. O jeito é deitar e rolar”, a sensory installation under a century-old fig tree. Meanwhile, Rafa Bqueer’s “Boiúna” draws inspiration from Amazonian myths and the LGBTQIA+ collective Themônias, combining fabrics, recycled materials, and sound to connect body, art, and nature.
