The 4th Edition of the Stair Wash kicks off February 7 at 11 AM in the Noble Hall and external stairs of the Municipal Theater.
Drawn from Bahian traditions, it blends spirituality, music, and Afro-Brazilian cuisine. Free and open to all.
At 11 AM, priests from African matrix religions lead ecumenical blessings for peace and unity.

Performance, book launch, ancestral flavors
At 11:30 AM, Vovó Cici de Oxalá shares musical storytelling, reviving oral traditions and ancestral wisdom.
Next, launch of the book Ajeum Bó – Stories of Ancestral Cuisine by Vovó Cici de Oxalá and Marlene da Costa. It honors cuisine as cultural heritage, with tastings.
Preta Batuque brings percussion and African matrix rhythms.
Stair washing with afoxé bloc
From 12:45 PM, baianas lead the stair washing to sacred chants. The Afoxé Bloc closes with cultural, spiritual, and political expressions of Black people.
