Singer and composer Alessandra Leão arrives in São Paulo with the show ACESA, which reinvents coco, ciranda and maracatu de baque solto through synthesizers and electronic programming. The performance takes place at Sesc Bom Retiro Theater in two presentations: Saturday, February 21 at 8pm, and Sunday, February 22 at 6pm.

Each night features a special guest. On Saturday, Ava Rocha joins the stage—a singer and filmmaker whose album Nektar was chosen among the best of 2023 by the São Paulo Association of Art Critics. On Sunday, Isaar performs, an instrumentalist who was part of projects like Comadre Fulozinha and DJ Dolores & Aparelhagem.

Fusion between tradition and contemporaneity

On stage, Alessandra Leão leads percussion and vocals alongside Guilherme Kastrup on drums and programming, Tamires Silveira on synthesizers, and Marcelo Cabral on synth bass. The formation creates sonic layers that start from Northeastern roots and reach experimental electronic territories.

With 29 years of career and 10 albums released, the artist from Pernambuco built her most recent work in partnership with producer Caê Rolfsen. The duo had already collaborated on Macumbas e Catimbós, nominated for the 2019 Latin Grammy.

The album ACESA dives into popular rhythms from Northeast Brazil and interweaves them with synthesizers, building a contemporary soundscape that dialogues with tradition without abandoning experimentation.
