At ARCOmadrid 2026, Almeida & Dale presents 25 artists exploring memory and time through works that merge geopolitics, body, and symbolism.
From March 4 to 8, the São Paulo gallery occupies booth 9C02 at IFEMA Madrid with an exhibition connecting different times, geographies, and visual languages. The show reflects on the image as a trace of past worlds, evoking personal, collective, and symbolic narratives.
From Marlene Almeida’s mineral pigments to Lidia Lisbôa’s monumental crochet structures, the show highlights the symbolic power of matter. The interplay between tradition and experimentation marks the works of Tunga, Túlio Pinto, Liuba Wolf, and Rebeca Carapiá, blending science, body, and territory.
Exploring lived and collective experiences, artists like José Leonilson, Sara Ramo, Hélio Melo, Heitor dos Prazeres, and Jaider Esbell address social and cultural identity issues. Rubem Valentim reimagines Afro-Brazilian religious symbols with both spiritual and aesthetic strength.
In a geopolitical context, Michael Rakowitz and Carlos Garaicoa reconstruct memories of ruins—from Iraq to Havana—while Maxwell Alexandre builds powerful visual narratives on Black Brazilian experience.
The exhibition bridges modern and contemporary practices, connecting artists like Leonilson, Eleonore Koch, Paulo Pasta, and Ana Elisa Egreja, who revisit the lineage of painting with renewed material research. Vivian Caccuri and Montez Magno expand the visual field into sound, poetry, and performance.
The presentation reaffirms Almeida & Dale’s standing as one of Brazil’s most influential galleries, fostering dialogue between tradition and innovation worldwide.
