Ana Flavia Cavalcanti revisits her past in “Conforto”

Award-winning actress Ana Flavia Cavalcanti presents “Conforto” at Sesc 24 de Maio, sharing the stage with her mother to explore memories of labor and affection.

On March 13 and 14, Sesc 24 de Maio hosts “Conforto”, a personal and poetic stage creation by Ana Flavia Cavalcanti. After more than 15 years in cinema and television, the actress returns to her roots to reflect on the time when she worked as a nanny and housekeeper before rising to national recognition.

Directed and written by Ana Flavia herself, the play features a special appearance by Val Cavalcanti, her real-life mother and domestic worker. Together they weave memories from childhood mornings watching children’s TV shows to days spent cleaning “family homes,” culminating in the dream of owning their own house.

The title “Conforto” refers to a popular fabric softener, a metaphor that links care and resistance. Dressed as a paquita and armed with a perfume sprayer, Ana Flavia transforms the stage into a space of tenderness and critique about visibility, social mobility, and affection.

Recently awarded the Troféu Redentor for Best Actress for the film Criadas, Ana Flavia also stars in TV and film productions such as Garota do Momento (TV Globo), Os Outros and Sob Pressão (Globoplay), Baby, Continente, and O Deserto de Akin.
