Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel’s drumline storms AquaRio’s lobby on February 6, kicking off ocean-themed pre-Carnival fun with kids’ blocks and workshops for all ages in South America’s top aquarium.
Fiesta under the sea
AquaRio turns visits into Carnival vibes. From February 6 to 8, families dive into pre-Carnival music, play and ocean crafts.
Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel samba school starts it off. Drums pulse in the lobby Friday, 11:30am-12pm and 12:30-1pm. Beats echo past live tanks.
Saturday spotlights Mini Sea Creatures block. Dozens blend violin, accordion and percussion. Joyful sea-inspired tunes from 11am to 12:15pm. Rhythms span generations.
Kids craft and play
Workshops add spark. On the 7th, Uncle Alex leads dance parties, classic games and DIY masks plus recycled instruments, 12:30-4:30pm.
Sunday’s Fabulosos Recreation runs 11am-3pm. Sea animal mask workshops, live music games and face painting thrill young explorers.
Activities weave through AquaRio‘s 26,000 m². Meet axolotls, tunnel under water and gaze into the Oceanic Great Tank with 4.5 million liters and 10,000 animals from 350 species.
