Starting April 11, Fundação Cultural Badesc in downtown Florianópolis opens its doors on Saturdays with a free charcoal drawing workshop and three art exhibitions.
The Sábado Cultural (Cultural Saturday) program returns for a second season at Fundação Cultural Badesc, one of Florianópolis’s most beloved cultural venues. For the next three months, the historic mansion will welcome visitors every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., as part of the foundation’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
Over 600 visitors in the first season
The program launched in 2025 and quickly found its audience. Denilson Antonio, the foundation’s arts coordinator, points to solid numbers as proof of its success.
We had a great response from the public in the project’s first year — proof of that is the more than 600 people who visited the mansion across 21 Saturdays.
Free charcoal drawing workshop kicks off the season
Artist Tauan Gon will lead a free charcoal drawing workshop on the opening Saturday, starting at 1 p.m. All materials will be provided on site, making the activity fully accessible to participants of all levels.
Three exhibitions on view
The foundation’s mansion at Rua Visconde de Ouro Preto, 216, currently hosts three simultaneous exhibitions showcasing diverse voices in contemporary art from Santa Catarina.
- “Desenhos de um Real – 20 Anos”, by Diego de los Campos
- “Estranhamento do Possível”, by Karine Abbati
- Group show “O Que Eu Vejo É O Beco”
The full schedule and activity sign-ups are available at fundacaoculturalbadesc.com and on Instagram @fundacaobadesc. All events are free of charge.
