Award-winning Clowns de Shakespeare (RN) and Magiluth (PE) team up for “Cão”. Opens January 15, 2026, at Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil Rio de Janeiro. Runs to March 15, backed by Banco do Brasil via Rouanet Law.
Then to CCBB Belo Horizonte and Salvador. Directed by Fernando Yamamoto and Luiz Fernando Marques (Lubi). Draws from “Coriolanus” as modern fable with comedy and music.
Fable on work precarity
Plot tracks event workers prepping a leader’s inauguration. Leader’s death sparks chaos, pressures, and absurd orders. Laughter reveals labor relations, power, and political manipulation.
From Shakespeare to present fractures. Mirrors both groups’ poetics.
