Exhibition “ILUSÃO. O engano do olhar” opens December 3 at Galeria Berlin with over 20 new works by Cazão.
With more than 20 new works, the exhibition “ILUSÃO. O engano do olhar” by artist Cazão immerses visitors in a universe where geometric forms, colors, and light intertwine to provoke perception and question reality.
Curated by Maristela Müller, the exhibition opens on December 3, 2025, at 7 p.m. at Galeria Berlin in Florianópolis, marking the artist’s first solo exhibition at the venue. The opening will feature free admission and a DJ set by Rodrigo Levél.
The result of a year of intense research, creation, and artistic guidance, the show presents paintings on canvas and plywood, as well as interventions on objects and murals. According to the artist, the works investigate the tension between what is seen and what is real.
By crossing vision and illusion, Cazão draws on geometric abstraction and the fundamentals of color theory to challenge and provoke the viewer’s perception.
“What interests me most in this project is the dialogue between the works, the space, and the people. Each piece was conceived to create a field of illusion and movement, where the viewer’s gaze is constantly challenged and invited to explore new perceptions,” says Cazão.
The curatorial proposal pushes the boundary between what is seen and what is imagined. According to the curator, we learn to distrust illusion, yet illusion is also the territory of desire and of what we project to shape what we lack.
“The body of work creates an environment in which the public is invited to cross this vibrant territory, where colors, forms, and perception intertwine and continually challenge the eye. Where reality bends to the power of perception,” shares Maristela Müller.
This marks the first time Cazão exhibits at Galeria Berlin, located in a historic mansion in the heart of Florianópolis.
The exhibition “ILUSÃO. O engano do olhar” will be on view through February 21, 2026, with different visiting hours during the week.
