The Teatro Gláucio Gill closes its 2025 season in a festive mood with the premiere of “Sucesso Total – Um Cabaré de Natal”. The production brings a vibrant revue that revisits the year’s key events with acid humor and strong musicality. In this way, the traditional Cabaré do Gláucio gains a special Christmas edition.
Conceived by Rafael Raposo, the theatre’s director, the project has become one of the most dynamic cabaret hubs in Rio de Janeiro. In 2025 alone, the theatre’s second floor hosted ten original cabarets, gathering veteran performers, emerging artists and new cabaret voices. Thus, the venue reinforced its identity as a reference for the city’s cabaret scene.
Special guests and party atmosphere
To celebrate this historic cycle, “Sucesso Total – Um Cabaré de Natal”, directed by Caio Riscado, features special appearances by Gilberto Gawronski, Éber Inácio and Josie Antello. The show recreates a playful “office party” cabaret, combining improvisation, musical numbers, witty commentary and the irreverent humor that has become the venue’s hallmark.
With cooperative Santas, choreographed reindeers, bold sleighs and talking Christmas trees, the stage becomes a space of freedom, invention and comic affection. The cast also includes Will Soares, Divina Malandra, Nadia Bittencourt, Vinicius Rocha and Ricardo Nolasco. Finally, each performance invites the audience to join in a collective year-end toast.
Music, creation and cabaret spirit
Musical direction is by Rohl Martinez, joined on stage by musicians Xandão Viana and Nigga. The project’s curatorship is signed by Christina Streva, while costumes are created by Halyson. In addition, lighting design by Lara Cunha reinforces the festive and irreverent atmosphere of this Christmas cabaret.
“Sucesso Total – Um Cabaré de Natal” reaffirms the spirit of contemporary cabaret: provocative, free, critical and deeply connected to its audience. In this sense, the show celebrates a year that shaped the history of Teatro Gláucio Gill and the Rio cabaret scene. The proposal is to turn each night into a large artistic gathering.
